Denver Bike Sharing
The mile high city is the latest metropolis to launch a bike sharing program. Called B-cycle, the effort was initiated by an interesting threesome…Trek Bicycles, Humana Healthcare and Crispin, Porter + Bogusky Advertisting. Kudos to all three for pushing this forward.
You can become a member of B-cycle and just swipe your card at the bike stations (located at public transit stops and high traffic areas), or you can pay for one time use through a kiosk. Ride, return and repeat.
There are a number of encouraging bicycle-related initiatives here in Charleston….studies for an Ashley River Bridge bike/ped lane, the public response (demand) for bike lanes on Maybank Highway, an upcoming closing of King Street to autos (Do The Charleston) and the Battery2Beach effort. I’d like to add a new-and-improved bike sharing program to the list.
