SMS Cat and Mouse At The Torch Relay

Great post by the New York Times about a game of high-tech cat and mouse during Wednesday’s Olympic Torch event in San Francisco. On one side you had the City and the Olympic organizers diverting the relay’s path to avoid pro-Tibet protesters, and on the other a group of SMS-enabled (TextMarks) demonstrators spread throughout the city. The intriguing twist in the story was an “undercover” demonstrator who was riding in the official torchbearer bus (an environmentalist picked by Coca-Cola to run with the torch as recognition for her conservation efforts)…ready to text sympathizers with the exact location of the torch. But the City smelled a rat.
