Run for Adela SUCCESS
While the rest of Blue Ion was DOMINATING at Dig South’s Culturama this Saturday, I was out at Sullivan’s Island working at the Run for Adela. It’s only 5K race on the beach at Sullivan’s Island in memory of my fiance’s sister. It’s our 5th year putting on the race and the most successful yet! We had about 750+ registrants for the 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run and an all-around good time. Trust me, it certainly wasn’t all work and no play…I’ll start at the top.
Pre-Game Party | Run for Adela
We took over Midtown Bar & Grill last Thursday.
We sold some merch, raffles and registered new runners/walkers.
We rocked out with Fowler’s Mustache.
Race Day | Run for Adela
We pledged bright and early Saturday morning.
We listened to our buddy Christopher from Camp Happy Days who taught us what it’s like to be kicking cancer’s butt.
We snapped some picts with old friends.
We snapped some picts with new friends.
We hydrated. Yes, that’s a water buffalo.
Official After-Party | Run for Adela
We partied some more at Triangle Char & Bar. Big thanks to our pals at Palmetto Brewing for helping out!
We made sure the volunteers were happy.
We held babies. And hoped no one would make us do any more work.
Shout out to RP and the fam for making it out this year!

What do you do with the money?
With the money we raise, we fund a weekend for teens with cancer through Camp Happy Days. They head on out to Rockville, SC to experience all of Adela’s favorite things – fishing, boating, camping, crabbing, flounder gigging, eco tours/walks, and more s’mores than most can handle. The numbers are still trickling so I’ll keep you updated on the final $$$.
