Folbot Custom Kayaks

Just launched a very cool new program for Folbot – starting now, you can custom design your own kayak skin. The process involves a bit of Photoshop work and then your custom design is printed right into the deck. It’s not a laminate, and it won’t scrape or peel off. It’s available on the Citibōt to start, and runs a bit more than the standard cost of a normal kayak.

We were involved in the planning for custom kayaks this past summer as Folbot launched their MetroBoat and pioneered the printing process. It’s been fun to explore deck possibilities and work through ways for customers to submit their designs online. For now, we’re handling the bulk of the custom kayak design process offline, but future plans call for automating the orders and allowing for images to be uploaded via the website.
