Alphabet Designs

Check out this book a good friend of mine found in Alaska and sent to me. This portfolio book from 1938 is a series of 32 plates showing tendencies in the design of alphabets for artist, architects, designers & craftsmen during that time. Its gorgeous. I haven’t found much information about the book other than the author is Irene K. Ames and it was published in 1938 by John Wiley & Sons, but I’m going to keep doing some research on it. I also must mention the little bonus found underneath the plates, I found old notebook paper where someone was practicing their penmanship (see the last image). Thanks Ken, awesome find!
