From its humble roots as a landscaping and maintenance crew up-keeping the common property of South Carolina’s Kiawah Island, Kiawah Island Community Association (KICA) has evolved to encompass many roles, all aimed at preserving and enhancing the island community’s way of life. Armed with a fresh new identity courtesy of Charleston-based Stitch Design Co., KICA needed help getting it off the ground. We set out to bring that identity to life on the web, solidify KICA’s position as the dedicated stewards of the island, and ultimately make its website work better for its members.

Our team developed the mantra “Community is at the center of everything we do,” and used it as inspiration as we re-organized the site’s content and improved its functionality. We created a one-stop shop for the latest news on the island, pass requests, pool reservations, group activities, and payment portal access. The design overhaul channeled the natural serenity of the sea island through rich imagery of the Lowcountry landscape, clean and approachable type treatment, and illustrations of local fauna.
