Holy City
Brewing
December 2019 marked a momentous occasion for Holy City Brewing, as they moved from their original, humble space into an expansive new brewery, taproom, and riverfront space in North Charleston’s Park Circle neighborhood. These super-savvy business owners believed in the power of working with local designers and artists to constantly churn out fresh, fun, and story-driven creative. That approach influences everything from Holy City’s beer names and styles, to labels, packaging, and environmental design.
To stay fresh and appeal to a growing audience, Holy City is often experimenting–whether through collaborations, small-batch releases, or new beer styles and flavors. We embraced their innovation and offbeat approach, developing a collection of labels to reflect each beer’s unique personality, rather than applying a conventional and monotonous look across every single can.
During our many years of collaboration, we gave Holy City’s original core brand designs a facelift, created new designs for seasonal and special releases, and as their footprint expanded across the Southeast, we developed new ways to package and promote their beers in grocery stores. We introduced them to our friends at Bubba to create a beer named after the aforementioned fishing gear brand, and they even let us jump into the brew house to help create a hibiscus gose dubbed Way Out There.
It’s great to see the Holy City label designs out in the wild and on shelves, standouts among a sea of beer cans. We’re proud to have helped Holy City Brewing become one of the most beloved and respected breweries in the Southeast. From humble beginnings to a thriving business and beer community in Charleston and beyond…we’ll drink to that.
