We’re Hiring! On the hunt for a PR & Marketing Manager

Blue Ion is looking for a full time team member to serve in a wide-ranging role where you’ll be responsible for helping to drive our public relations and editorial initiatives for a diverse group of clients.

Daily tasks will include both leadership and support of public and media relations efforts (both client-facing and for Blue Ion), in addition to content and copy development, all for a wide variety of clients.

About Blue Ion

We’re a full service creative agency based in Charleston, SC and Greenville, SC. We opened our doors nineteen years ago, and today deliver a full array of marketing services to a mix of national, regional, and local brands.

We’ve developed an open, creative, and fun environment where everyone can expand their skills and reach new heights. We’re currently at 20 full-time employees and enjoy being a mid-sized and tight-knit group with room to grow.

Experience/Requirements

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS 3-5 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

Public relations and media outreach – you know a good story when you hear it, and possess the keen ability to creatively tell that story to the right people, at the right time. You are a great listener, a dynamic communicator, unflappable, self-driven, and unafraid to ask a client or coworkers for support and resources to get the job done. You take initiative and prefer to work independently and creatively with little supervision.

Content planning – demonstrated leadership in managing the entire project cycle of content planning, production, and distribution efforts for clients through traditional, nontraditional, or emerging platforms and vehicles.

Social media – you are genuinely passionate about social media and have your finger on the pulse of all that is new, fun, and resourceful for business growth and follower engagement. You have strong opinions on working with influencers, and have executed countless successful social campaigns.

Writing – experience writing for brands and businesses (or for fun) in a variety of styles – from elevator pitches, to creative sales copy, blogs, bios, editorial features, and everything in between. You love to read and strive to keep your copy skills sharp.

Marketing leader – demonstrated success in planning, execution, tracking, and reporting on a range of online and offline media, across a variety of brands and industries. This is a client-facing role where your opinion and leadership is requested – and required.

Production leader – experienced in managing external and internal teams and developing strong, long-term individual and team relationships; ability to prioritize, focus and lead multiple initiatives at once.

Process and performance champion – continually seeks new methods and processes, from planning through reporting, and fosters a productive, exciting, and rewarding work environment.

Bonus Points

Takes work (but not yourself) seriously.

You have existing media relationships, and the cell phone number of V.I.P. editors that you’re not afraid to use.

Brings new, specialized skills and interests to the table.

Thought leader – eager to connect, learn, and share new ideas internally and externally (via social media, publishing, speaking engagements, etc.).

Involvement and leadership with industry/community organizations.

You love to network, and know many familiar faces around town.

You can show a handful of unique stories or social posts landed on behalf of your company or clients.
