Welcome to the Team Dan!

Meet Dan Pressly, our newest addition to the performance marketing team. As is customary for new additions to the Blue Ion crew, we made Dan answer some hard-hitting questions.

What are your nicknames?

Dan, Dannny (family and close family friends), Danimal, D-Man, DJ (Dan Junior, even though I’m actually the 3rd)

Dan

What would be the title of your autobiography?

The Pursuit of Happiness

If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?

Most definitely flying – I imaging seeing the world from those heights would make me feel small and be super humbling at the same time. It would also make seeing loved ones easier.

Would you rather be a tiny elephant or a giant hamster?

Tiny elephant – Don’t really have an explanation – they’re just cute and look like they’re always having a good time.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

I was so afraid of vegetables and foods with awkward textures that I’m not the most adventurous when it comes to trying food – working on it. My Dad told me calamari was chicken when I was younger, and now it’s still one of my favorite foods.

If you were a cupcake, what flavor would you be?

Chocolate infinity-ness

What celebrity do people think you look like?

I never really had anyone tell me who I looked like, so I polled some friends and family and got: John Krasinski, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Hamill (Skywalker days) & Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris days)

When you were 6 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I can’t think of anything in particular – I was only 6, so I was probably living in the moment camping or in the outdoors somewhere not thinking about the future.

What was your favorite toy as a child?

I loved RC cars and had 5 at one time. We used to drag miniature GI Joes behind them. I always got sad when the battery would die 15 minutes after I just charged it for 4 hours.

What would you like to be famous for?

Fame isn’t really something I strive for or think about, but I do hope I have positive influences on family, friends, colleagues and anyone else I come in contact with. I really work hard to stay positive and refrain from complaining so that I can maintain the most stress-free life possible.

What one food do you wish had zero calories?

Burritos

If you were a Crayola crayon, what color would you be?

Steel Blue – #4682B4

What’s your Smurf name?

Adventure Smurf

If you could only drink one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Is it weird that I find water so refreshing? Even when I’m paddleboarding and my water is close to boiling, it’s still satiating.

What is your theme song?

Anything with a upright bass, violin, piano, and/or banjo in it. Even if it’s just instrumentals – I feel that if you listen close enough, those types of instruments tell their own story.

If your house was burning down, what’s the one thing you would save?

Living beings first, and then all my camping and outdoors gear. Gonna need a tent to live in if my house gets charred.

Which cartoon character would you most like to switch lives with?

Bugs Bunny. He’s super chill and continues to be one step ahead of everyone with what appears to be minimal effort.

If you were on death row, what would your last meal be?

As many variations of mac-&-cheese as possible.

If you were to write a self-help book, what would the topic be?

How everything works out in the end.

If you could witness any historical event, what would you want to see?

The moon landing: 1.) To be immersed in such an amazing display of courage and high-risk challenges where human lives were on the line throughout every second of the mission 2.) To watch it first hand so I can determine through my own experience if it was real or not. Still leaning heavily toward yes.
