Fly Fishing Guiding and Fisheries Conservation with Lucas Bissett

Lucas Bissett has been obsessed with fish and fishing for pretty much his whole life.

Based out of Slidell, Louisiana, he channeled that passion into a successful fly fishing guide business and was named the Orvis Saltwater Fly Fishing Guide of the Year in 2017. At the same time, he pursued a parallel path and career in fisheries conservation, including the amazing St. Bernard Parish Black Mangrove Project in Chalmette, LA.

When Lucas was in Charleston this past summer to be the featured speaker at a fisheries conservation event, we had a chance to sit down and talk about his experiences guiding, the fisheries projects he’s helped launch and grow, and what’s on his horizon.

We hope you enjoy the show, as time spent with Captain Lucas is full of laughs, smarts and inspiration.

As always, thanks for tuning into The Way Out There, and keep your eyes open and ears cleared for the episode in the coming weeks. If haven’t already, you can subscribe to the show on iTunes, Stitcher or whatever podcast platform you prefer to get the new episodes without delay.

That’s all for now, and as always, we hope you’re finding The Way Out There.
