The Only Two Twitter Tools You’ll Ever Need

Every day I see a tweet about yet another blog post about the 25, 47, 50, 60, or 140(!) twitter tools “you can’t live without.” Really? How are there so many tools for such a simple program? Are they really all “awesome?” And how many articles can really be created to talk about them?

Heck, try this search for “twitter tools” on Delicious and you’ll see what I mean.

So, I thought I’d cut to the chase. You don’t have time to read all these articles. Here are the only two tools you need to master Twitter and catapult yourself into the social media stratosphere.

1. A Keyboard
Keyboard

“Keyboard” is a popular tool for crafting those 140 amazing characters that will form your Tweet. Keyboard is available for Mac AND PC and is built using the PLASTIC platform.

2. Mouse (or finger)
Mouse

Depending on your tweeting device (computer or cell phone), the “mouse” or “finger” tool (choose from the settings screen) lets you seamlessly navigate the Twitter interface. Anyone @replied to your witty Tweet yet? Use the Mouse tool. About to turn off the tv and listen to Jazz? Tell your followers in the blink of an eye.

That’s it! Those other 138 tools – forget ’em. Keyboard and Mouse are all you need.
