Nice Day for a Lake Wedding – Russell Lands

As wedding season comes to a close for this year, it only marks the beginning of wedding-planning season. We just recently expanded the Weddings section on the Russell Lands on Lake Martin website. Being the fiance of this crew, I was selected to help out with the production, creative and programming of the section – like one-stop shopping.

1. Need more space!
We expanded each venue’s content to have its own landing page in order to help drastically with SEO (formerly just a paragraph and photo gallery for each). These landing pages also would serve us well for upcoming paid search campaigns

2. More pictures!
Refreshing and repurposing the existing photo gallery to be just for that venue proved to be a large and meaningful task.  Adding new “real wedding” galleries housing up to a dozen images each of actual weddings in each venue – about 2-6 galleries per venue. Brides-to-be love to see what others have done with the space to give them an idea of what their wedding could look like.

3. New venues!
The team at Russell Lands on Lake Martin had been using new venues that weren’t mentioned on the website so we created a new page for both The Grand Oak and Heaven Hill.

4. Featured Press!
Nothing makes a bride more confident in her decision than the security of real press. Now available on every page of the Weddings section.

5. All the details!
We pulled all of the details you would want to know into a “Planning Details” panel on each Venue Details page. The concise format will hopefully help the decision-making process.

6. Sign the dotted line!
All catering and venue contracts can now be found on the site to help anyone who wants to review them before coming for a visit.

7. Venues in venues!
One of the venues, SpringHouse has multiple areas for folks to rent out. Each has their own look and feel and can be combined with others at the venue or used alone. To highlight each of these, we displayed them in accordion fashion with a description and thumbnail for each.

8. Wedding videos!
A few brides were nice enough to share their wedding videos with us so we put those to work into the Real Weddings panels.

9. Quick! The numbers!
Right from the Weddings landing page, we wanted to let readers know what size crowd each venue could handle.

10. So hungry!
If you aren’t hungry now, one look at the Preferred Caterers page will get you there! One entire photo gallery of the delicious food and beverages from the on-site restaurants and nearby country club will have you ready for your lunch break. We also put all of the menus and contracts on this page.
