NYC Parking Meters Getting Greener

Another nice example of how cities can take simple steps to improve bicycle accessibility. NYC is transforming 225 of its parking meters into bike racks. Simply chop off the working part of the meter and attached a circular piece of metal. Done. The new racks cost $300 to set up, and save the city $200 by not having to rip out meter posts and patch concrete. Let’s try some in Charleston.
