Local Folks, Moving Spokes – July 20th

I’m certainly biased in this matter, but I’m pumped about the upcoming Local Folks, Moving Spokes event being held here at Blue Ion CHS on July 20th. This new series is produced by two of our most important community organizations – Charleston Moves and Lowcountry Local First – as an ongoing format for exploring the mash-up of creativity, bicycle transit and accessibility, and local community and character.

In this first session, I get to have a 30-minute-ish conversation with the super-talented Becca Barnet from Sisal Creative. We’ll be talking about some work stuff, thoughts about the place we call home, and of course, bicycle biking. I know for a fact that Becca’s got a fun bicycle story to share. After that conversation the entire crowd will jump on bikes, depart Blue Ion, and pedal up to the brand spanking new Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. at Pacific Box & Crate.

Here’s the schedule:
Blue Ion Creatives Discussion: 6:00 – 6:30 pm
Bike Ride to Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co.: 6:30 – 7:00 pm
Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. Social Hour: 7:00 – 8:00 pm

Get more details, register and purchase your ticket (which not only supports both organizations, BUT ALSO includes your first drink at Edmund’s Oast) right HERE.

Big tip of the hat to Connor Lock for the event materials design – he may be willing to sign a poster or face.

Hope to see you on the 20th. And many thanks to Charleston Moves, Lowcountry Local First and Edmund’s Oast for making all this possible.
