How’s your content?

You can’t be on the Interwebs for very long before the word “content” pops up. It’s big.

Beyonce big.

But what is it?

Content is a lot. So get ready.

Content is words, stories, illustrations, photographs, video, blogs, social media, infographics, press releases, white papers, ads, brochures, website, catalogs, presentations, signage, HR materials, customer service scripts, auto-response messaging, mobile apps, how-to videos, packaging, social media, point of purchase materials, emails, newsletters, WHEW!

That’s not all, but you get the idea. I don’t want to make your head pop off.

To make things simpler, so your shoulders can move down from near your ears, let’s call content: words and stories.

Breathing a little easier? Good.

Here are three things to remember about your content, er, your words and stories.

  1. Words and stories are everywhere. From Megatrons and print ads and book covers to receipts and packaging.
  2. They’re super important. Really, try to get a through a day without them. Imagine a world with no stop signs, no assembly directions, no books, newspapers, photos, videos. Grim, huh?
  3. Words and stories help us understand one another. They help us stay safe, build things, learn things, share information, support and motivate action, persuade, entertain, incite, and inspire.

So. How’s your content? Is it all in top-notch shape? Out there motivating and inspiring customers? All of it? The ads, brochures, website, catalogs, presentations, signage, HR materials, customer service scripts, auto-response messaging, mobile apps, how-to videos, packaging, social media, point of purchase materials, emails, newsletters.

I told you it’s a lot.

Here’s the great news. Over here at Blue Ion Headquarters, we’ve got a bunch of folks who love planning, creating and measuring content, er, words and stories. And we can help you. Right now. So, your content can be as inspiring and motivating as you want it to be. And big too.
