Garden & Gun Land Launch

When our friends at Garden & Gun magazine decided to create another arm of their brand to offer an online marketplace for high end sporting properties, we knew it would be a hit. Introducing….Garden & Gun Land.

With large imagery and equally impressive property postings, the Garden & Gun Land will make a land-lover out of you. Their philosophy is based around the theory that if you really want to conserve a piece of land, give it to someone who will use for what it was meant to do – provide families with food on the table, cooling off kids in a freshwater stream,  making new friends into old hunting pals, and letting the stress of the real world melt away as soon as you stroll through the gate.

Say goodbye to the stuffy, tabled, and frumpy land-for-sale websites you may be thinking of. The Garden & Gun Land site is as easy to use and search while serving up exploration options such as The Collection – hosting a series of curated properties within a category like Farms & Retreats, Historic Plantations, Duck Places or Conservation Property.

The search parameters are by region or state and users can combine with an activity such as fishing, equestrian or waterfowl hunting. Search results can then be refined by price, acreage, and features such as pastures, lodging and timberland. The main and advanced searches are accompanied by custom icon sets to enhance the visual experience and make for quicker clicks.

With so many features, we created a Free Account for users to be able to create lists of their favorite properties and buyers as well as save their frequent searches. Paid accounts can post their properties or buyers using membership plans starting at $125 / month. Meant for flagship tracts and portfolio-makers.

Did you hear that? You can advertise your buyers. Not something we could find anywhere else on the interwebs. Members can post unlimited buyers with any paid account.

Within the buyer posting, members can define the states they are interested in, acreage and price ranges, and their primary (just one) and secondary sporting activities (2 more!), specific location (open text field!) and other notes (open text free-for-all!) such as must-haves, time to purchase, other activities they are interested in or what would be a “bonus” (i.e. a dove field!).

The Property Postings are the real glamour shots on the site. Great for searching for that perfect tract you’ve always wanted and really great for dreaming about the piece you may have one day. Especially if you don’t have $54 million to drop on a ranch in Colorado. (But it would be pretty amazing if you did!)

With quick links to Favorite and Contact the broker accompanying the property name, county, state, price and acreage, the photo gallery really adds the exclamation point to the posting. Members can upload up to 20 images per posting as long as they of professional quality – a rule that made us smile as it will keep the integrity of the site very high long after launch.

The detailed section boasts a property overview with featured icons and an open text section for brokers to really brag about the property, a tab for activities, attributes and improvements of the property, and one helluva embedded map. Garden & Gun Land partnered with TerraStride Pro for an easy way to allow brokers to create custom maps for complicated tracts and to call out certain features while keeping the look of all the map clean and similar. See the example below for a multi lot tract of an equestrian facility in Holly Hill, SC. Browsers can zoom in / out, and view full screen for the ultimate experience.

We are excited to see Garden & Gun Land continue to grow their database of fancy sporting and conservation properties in the coming years (read: stalk their Google Analytics data).

Now what’s going to be in Phase 2???
