Charleston Symphony Orchestra & Steep Canyon Rangers

We’ve been working with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra (CSO) for the past few months — on a new website and marketing programs. It’s an exciting time for them. They’ve been busy helping tune the new, state-of-the-art performance hall, AKA their new home, at The Gaillard Center. And now, we’re helping promote their upcoming season of performances.

We got to know the CSO’s Executive Director Michael Smith through our work on the The Gaillard community campaign. Both Michael and concertmaster/violinist Yuriy Bekker are highlighted are on the website; and both were incredibly generous with their time and input on the new performance hall. And, they provided invaluable insight on what the arts mean to Charleston. Check out their interviews here and here.

To promote the CSO’s upcoming show with the Grammy-winning bluegrass band, Steep Canyon Rangers, we (and by we, I mean, Nic) designed a poster that brings together the rustic quality of bluegrass and the elegance of symphonic music. And also, goats.

Here’s the initial sketch:

And here’s the final printed (and signed!) poster…screenprinted by John Pundt. FYI: a limited number of posters will be available for purchase at the show. Also, get tickets for the show here.
